MEET DR. PINTO

SHE LOVES HER WORK

Dr. Ines Pinto was born and raised in Portugal and graduated from veterinary school at Evora University, Portugal, in 2008. After graduation, she moved to Spain and completed a yearlong internship at the University of Barcelona Veterinary School in Equine Internal Medicine and Surgery.

After her internship, an opportunity presented itself to work with Egyptian Arabian horses, which led her on a two-year adventure in the land of the great pyramids. While in Egypt, she met her husband, who was serving in the U.S. Army at the time.

Dr. Pinto completed the American veterinarian certification in 2016 and has worked as a small animal veterinarian in the Huntsville and Athens area since. She loves her work and has a special interest in internal medicine, ophthalmology, and dermatology.

She shares her home with her husband Wade, their daughter and son, a sweet Beagle Mix named Roxie, a friendly Siamese cat named Whisky, and a mischievous Dachshund mix named Ollie. Dr. Pinto is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. In her free time, Dr. Pinto enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and gardening. Her favorite place is the beach.

Dr. Pinto built her clinic with a comfortable home-like atmosphere in mind for both the pets and their owners. She provides personalized, compassionate, and dedicated veterinary care to enrich the lives of her patients and their families while creating long-term relationships. She is looking forward to serving the Madison area.

MEET DR. CHARLA SIMS

Charla Sims is a veterinary professional from Cullman, AL where her family still resides. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Auburn University before completing her degree at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Since 2004, she has made Huntsville her home, building both a fulfilling career and a meaningful life within the community. She has a particular interest in surgery and internal medicine and takes great pride in providing thoughtful, comprehensive care to her patients.

Outside of her professional work, Charla shares her home with her two beloved cats, Hardy and Norman. She has a deep appreciation for all things nerdy, along with a love for movies and many creative hobbies.

MEET NATALIE SATTERFIELD

Natalie is an Alabama native who grew up watching Animal Planet, Steve Irwin, Meerkat Manor, and anything to do with horses. She originally wanted to become a Registered Nurse in human medicine but decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine in 2021. Natalie has an interest in equine, small animals, and zoo medicine. Her hobbies include reading books, listening to music, dog training, and spending time with her three beloved dogs – Bruce the Miniature Pinscher, Nina the crossbreed, and Alice the Australian Shepherd.

MEET LINDSAY SHOST

Lindsay was born in Scotland, where her father was serving in the Navy, and lived in Iceland, Spain, and England, where she would constantly bring home stray animals. After earning her degree in Business Administration at Stirling University in Scotland, she came to the United States and worked in various industries until she found her dream job as a Veterinary Receptionist where she gets to love on animals all day.

She has four dogs and six cats of her own (yes, she still brings home strays), and two wonderful children. Her hobbies include reading and baking.

MEET DAINA ROSARIO

Daina is an Alabama native and has been living in Madison since 2018. She has always had a passion for animals and began her journey in veterinary medicine as a receptionist in 2020. Daina is excited to be part of the clinical staff here at Heritage and looks forward to help care for all the furry faces who come through the door.

When she’s not at work, Daina enjoys performing shows within the local theatre community, dancing in parades with the Rocket City Novas, and spending time with her partner, Joey, her daughter, Zoe, and her pets, Lucy, Nola, Lonnie, and Tuxie.

MEET NICOLE CONAWAY

Nicole was born in Virginia but has lived in Madison for as long as she can remember. At just four years old, she told her parents she wanted to become a veterinarian, a goal she has remained committed to ever since. She began her journey in veterinary medicine in 2021 as a kennel attendant and has steadily worked her way up to her current role as a veterinary assistant. Along the way, she continues to pursue her long-term goal of becoming a veterinarian.

Outside of work, Nicole enjoys exploring her creative side through writing, painting, journaling, and learning new crafts. She also loves relaxing with a good book or playing video games, often accompanied by her cats, Oscar and River, who are always eager to “help” in their own way.

MEET ASHLEY ROY

Ashley Roy is a veterinary assistant from Decatur, AL with a strong passion for animal care and a lifelong interest in veterinary medicine. She has hands-on experience supporting veterinary teams and caring for many animals. Driven by a desire to grow within the field, Ashley is actively working toward earning a veterinary technician license to further expand her skills in animal health. Her approach combines a genuine love for animals with a commitment to continued learning.

Outside of the clinic, Ashley enjoys riding motorcycles, listening to music, and spending time with animals, interests that reflect her energetic personality and deep connection to the world around her.
